Free prototype offer
AI coding tools now do the build work about 5x faster. Are those savings being passed on to you?
"I'll build you a working prototype in 5 business days, free, no obligation."
Scott Holmes, founder
What is the free prototype offer?
AI Agents for Business, an Ontario company founded by Scott Holmes, builds a working prototype of one AI agent or workflow for Canadian businesses, free, within 5 business days of receiving sample data and test access. It starts after a free 30-minute audit call, runs on your real tools in a test setup or on sample data, never touches live customers or production data, and comes with no obligation. We take on 4 free prototypes a month.
The point is simple. You see an agent doing your actual work before you decide whether to pay for the production version.
What do you get, and what don't you get?
What you get
- A working prototype: one workflow or one agent, built against your real tools in a test setup, such as a test mailbox or a sandbox copy of your CRM or accounting system, or on sample data you provide.
- A live demo: you watch it run on your own examples on a video call.
- A written summary: what the prototype does, and what the full production build would cost.
- A straight answer: whether the job is worth building, and what we'd change for production.
What a prototype is not
- Not live: it doesn't touch live customers or production data.
- Not the production agent: production adds the connection to your live systems, approvals, the full activity log, a staging review, documentation and support.
- Not yours to keep running: the working prototype itself stays with us. The written summary is yours.
What are the terms?
Seven plain terms. Nothing in small print.
- It starts after the free 30-minute audit call, once we agree on the one job to prototype.
- One workflow or one agent, built against your real tools in a test setup or on sample data you provide. It doesn't touch live customers or production data.
- It's working within 5 business days of the day we have the sample data and test access.
- You see it running on a video call.
- No obligation. If you don't go ahead, you owe nothing and you keep a written summary of what it does and what the full build would cost. The working prototype itself stays with us.
- If you go ahead, we build it into production at the fixed price on our pricing page. A first agent is from $995. The prototype work is not charged on top.
- We take on 4 free prototypes a month, about one a week, first come, first served. If the month is full, we give you the next start date.
What could your prototype be?
Examples of prototypes we could build for a mid-size business. They are illustrations, not client case studies.
Example: an invoice intake agent
For a distributor or manufacturer. You send a batch of real supplier invoices as PDFs. The agent pulls the vendor, PO number, line items and totals, checks them against a sample PO list and creates draft bills in a QuickBooks test company. On the call you watch it handle the clean ones and flag the ones that don't match.
Example: a quote-drafting agent
For a contractor or equipment supplier. The agent reads sample RFQ emails, pulls out the scope and quantities, applies your price list and fills your quote template as a draft for an estimator to finish.
Example: customer chat that answers from your own documents
For a clinic group, property manager or service company. A chat agent loaded with your FAQs, policies and service list answers test questions on a private test page, and hands anything it can't answer to a person with a summary.
Example: an inbox triage agent
For an operations team with a shared inbox. The agent sorts a week of exported sample emails by type and urgency, routes each one to the right person and drafts replies to the routine ones.
What happens after the prototype?
One of two things, and you choose.
You don't go ahead
That's the end of it. You owe nothing and you keep the written summary of what the prototype does and what the full build would cost.
You go ahead
You get one fixed price in writing. A first agent is from $995, and the prototype work isn't charged on top. We build it into production and you review a staging version before anything goes live. The production agent is typically live in about 2 weeks, with documentation, a walkthrough and 2 weeks of support.
After that, monthly support is optional from $99/month, month to month, cancel anytime. You own what we build: the workflows, prompts and documentation.
Why can we build it for free?
AI coding tools changed one part of this work. The mechanical build work, meaning scaffolding, integrations, wiring and testing, now goes about 5x faster than it did. Discovery, understanding how your workflow really runs, and the judgment calls about what an agent should and shouldn't do did not get faster. Those still take a person's full attention.
That's why a working prototype of one job now fits in 5 business days. We'd rather spend that time showing you a working agent than asking you to pay for one on faith. Each prototype still takes real hours, which is why we cap it at 4 a month.
Questions about the free prototype
What counts as one workflow or one agent?
One job with one main input and one main output, such as supplier invoices into draft bills, or a chat agent that answers from one set of documents. If what you want is bigger, we prototype the part that proves the idea, and the written summary prices the rest.
What do you need from us to start the 5 business days?
Sample data and test access. That usually means a few dozen real but non-sensitive examples, such as invoices or emails, plus a test mailbox or a sandbox account for the system involved. The 5 business days start on the day we have both.
Can the prototype use our live systems?
No. It runs in a test setup or on sample data you provide, and it doesn't touch live customers or production data. Connecting to your live systems, with approvals and logging, is part of the production build.
Do we keep the prototype if we don't go ahead?
No. You keep a written summary of what it does and what the full build would cost, and you owe nothing. The working prototype itself stays with us.
What does the production build cost if we go ahead?
The fixed price on our pricing page. A first agent is from $995, and the prototype work is not charged on top. You get the price in writing before the production build starts.
What if this month's 4 prototypes are already taken?
We give you the next start date. Prototypes are first come, first served, about one a week.
